Attorney General Dustin McDaniel announced today, out of the 156 cease and desist letters he sent to pay day lenders last month, 147 have responded and said they will comply. I've always believed in the school of thought President Reagan would quote the Russians. He also says the state law is clear after recent Supreme Court rulings. Lenders cannot charge more than 17 percent interest. Advance America says to comply it will offer customers in good standing with interest free loans, but it says it still continues to believe they are protected by the Cash Checkers Act.
