Hugh Hathorn retained his role as county board attorney and the board members agreed to retain all board employees including the courthouse employees. Sheriff Thomas and the board members discussed how the sheriff’s budget might be able to be augmented by the county jail budget and how the correctional facility funds were earmarked for only specific spending. Board attorney Hathorn noted that the board could only recognize that Thomas never received the items and that the Sheriff could investigate what happened to the items and upon a full investigation persons or persons could be deemed responsible for the financial loss. Weaver also requested the board table discussions on a new caretaker for the park until the full Dean Park Commission could make a full recommendation of the matter to the board.
